Kaydee + Josh - Santa Barbara Resort Wedding

When Josh came across Kaydee’s Instagram, he read a caption she wrote for one of her posts: ‘Fill your brain with giant dreams so there’s no space for petty pursuits’. Little did Kaydee know that this one picture would be of life-changing significance. Josh decided to go for it and sent her a message, and checked his phone every 5 minutes after that waiting for her reply. When she finally did, the conversation went on for days, weeks and months. With him living in The Netherlands at that time, and Kaydee living in Curacao, he stayed up late at night to talk to her. 

After finishing his thesis he started planning to come back to Curacao, he connected with Kaydee’s sister who helped him set up a surprise, it would be the first time they met in person. He stepped out of the car and she opened the door, Kaydee came running towards him smiling and crying. Two souls that had found each other, and two years later would celebrate their wedding, together with their family and friends. 

For two days they celebrated. The first day their civil wedding ceremony at Santa Barbara Resort, the second day at Santa Famia Church in Otrobanda, with a huge party at the Santa Barbara Resort again. With a ballroom filled with trees and plants gathered from Kaydee’s mom’s garden. The day was filled with surprises, from a choir in church to a serenade during the party at night. And everyone’s favourite surprise artist, Ataniro.

Kaydee + Josh, thank you again for having us document these two days for you, to get to spend these special moments with you, meeting your family and friends and seeing you enjoy every second with each other. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both! Much love, Claudia and Miguel.
